Young Lion takes the helm in Numurkah

The Numurkah Lions Club held their changeover dinner on Monday August 16. At the changeover special presentations were made to Lions Ladies Bernadette Steward & Margaret Mitchell in appreciation for their many years of service to Numurkah Lions Ladies & the Numurkah Lions Club. The outgoing President Keith Nicoll handed over the gong & gavel (pictured) to Jack Fischer. Jack Fischer at 24 years is the youngest member to ever lead our Lions club. His younger brother Harry at 19 years is the club’s assistant treasurer.

President Jack’s goals are: the realisation of the Newman Square beautification project in Numurkah, the continuation of our main fundraiser – the Broken Creek Market, the annual Christmas carols, to mark the 75 year celebration of Lions in Australia in 2022, membership drive, investigate new fundraising ideas, more social activities, increased promotion, support our Lions projects (Lap the Map for diabetes, youth, fruit fly, the environment), host & promote the skin check & awareness unit (Feb 2022), & support & promote the club’s hosting of the District convention (Oct 2022).

Numurkah Lions Club had a successful day on Thursday 23September in the Lions Park call keeping connected with each other on the banks of the Broken Creek Numurkah Lions Park . Tea and coffee was served with home made slices and biscuits was enjoyed by all who were there .There were a few good story’s told on the day . There will be another one held one afternoon soon.
